Hi and welcome!

Over the past two years, I have completed three professional practice placements in fulfilment of a Master of Teaching (Primary), countless assignments and endured many sleepless nights. The journey to becoming a teacher has been very challenging but through these obstacles I have continued to learn, and through learning I have continued to teach.  Teaching is therefore a lifelong process that includes continual learning, critical reflection and growth. Thanks to my studies at UWA and professional practicum experiences, I am now equipped with the necessary professional knowledge, skills and understandings and teaching pedagogy required for effective teaching.

As an educator, I want to be part of the movement that empowers future generations to make the most of their abilities whilst igniting a thirst for knowledge and wonder that allows them to become lifelong learners and global citizens. I will continually strive to deliver the best well-rounded education to students that not only feeds their minds but also enhances their character through positive values, modelling and communication.

My name is Bianca. In 2002, my love of learning truly began, as did my attendance at Methodist Ladies' College (MLC) after having moved to Australia from South Africa. In 2010, I graduated from MLC and enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce at UWA, majoring in Financial Accounting and Management. Upon completion of my degree, I began working at a major accounting firm. However, I quickly realised that the career I had dedicated four years of my life to was not orientated around my greatest passion: helping people in ways that have a lasting, positive and uplifting impact on their lives. After serious contemplation, the decision to pursue teaching took shape and solidified my future.

if in terms of ten years, plant trees;

if in terms of 100 years, teach the people.”
